Looking for things to do in Chicago this summer? One of the great treasures of Chicago is its architecture. The architectural history of the city goes back to the rebuilding after the great Chicago Fire. The modern Skyscraper was eventually born from the ashes of that fire.
There may be no better way to experience the city than going on an architectural boat tour. There are several companies that provide tours of the city from the perspective of the Chicago River, including Wendella Boats, Chicago’s First Lady Cruises, and Chicago Line Cruises among others.
A great resource for architectural tours in Chicago is the Chicago Architecture Foundation, a not for profit organization which promotes the city’s built environment through tours, exhibitions and event. Check out their website www. architecture.org/experience-caf/tours/ to see the variety of tours they provide including bus tours, walking tours, twilight river cruises and even a special River Cruise designed with the photographer in mind.
