Studio21 architects took on the role of architect and builder for this home in Schaumburg, Illinois. Using our Design+Build process, the client worked with the architectural staff from schematic design to the completion of construction. This home started as a teardown lot in the Historic District of Schaumburg, with guidelines that favor a historic farmhouse character and charm. It was our task to meld the homeowners design wish list with those guidelines. The result is a contemporary take on a classic farmhouse style home with a large wrap-around front porch and a side load garage pushed to the back of the home to be hidden from view. While the exterior was designed to meet the historic qualities the Village required, the interior was designed with all the modern amenities and layout the homeowners desired.
